Identity before more security tools
A surprising share of incidents start with a valid login.
Know who has access to email, cloud, banking and admin panels. Shared passwords are not a team-building exercise. They are an unowned key.
Multi-factor authentication on those accounts is usually worth more than a new scanner. Prefer app-based or hardware factors over SMS where you can.
Least privilege: the intern does not need production delete. The former contractor should not still have VPN. Offboarding is a security control.
Service accounts and API keys are identities too. They leak in tickets and chat. Rotate them. Do not put them in screenshots of 'quick setup'.
New tools on top of messy identity create more logs of the same problem. Fix the keys first. Then decide if you still need the dashboard.
We can review identity as part of consulting or an authorized assessment. We will not invent a threat score to sell you a box.
